Cornwall Handyman offers a personal service aimed at making your life easier, by communicating more effectively and building a better relationship with you, our customer.
Whether you have a property you use for private holidays, or a holiday let you rent throughout the summer, we can carry out single jobs as you need them or regular checks and maintenance throughout the year. Our personal service is carried out however best suits you. To give you an idea of what we offer, see below;
Letting Repair;
If you own or manage holiday let accommodation, whether it is a house, a flat or a caravan, you will know that turn around time between guests leaving and the next guests arriving can be tight. It’s usually within this period that you discover the property has been damaged or something is broken. If you are unable to carry out a repair yourself this can mean apologies when your new guests arrive, or at worst, a cancelled holiday and money lost. Not any more, now all it takes is a call to Cornwall handyman and we will get to you as quickly as possible to fix the problem, if possible before your new guests have even arrived.
Check and Maintain;
This service is largely for your peace of mind during the months you may not be around and security can be an issue. We will hold keys and visit your property as often as you like, maybe quarterly, maybe monthly, it’s up to you. We will check the exterior for any signs of damage, for example missing or loose roof tiles caused by adverse weather and also check to make sure drain covers and guttering etc are clear of debris which may lead to problems if not dealt with. Inside the property we can ensure there are no broken windows, signs of forced entry, or leaks from rainwater or plumbing. If anything is found to be amiss, we will contact you immediately and, with your consent, resolve the problem as quickly as possible.
This can be an invaluable service, as a problem initially costing pounds to fix, left undetected could cost thousands. Another advantage is the property won’t look unattended, neighbours may see someone has visited and post can be moved from behind the door as this is a tell tale sign of an unoccupied residence. Also it’s always handy to have someone nearby with a spare set of keys, and a lot safer than hiding them under a plant pot! Other work can be included, such as grass cutting, tidying the garden, cleaning windows, etc.
This service is charged at £30 per visit. Dates must be booked and paid for in advance of visit. Routine checks are included. Additional maintenance, if required and agreed, is charged as extra.
Arrival and Departure;
It’s never pleasant to arrive for your holiday to a cold, damp and dusty house. That’s why we devised the Arrival service. We can wake up your property ready for your arrival. This may involve some or all of the following; Turning on the electric and the water and flushing the pipes, turning on the heating and hot water, cleaning, vacuuming and freshening up, Making up beds, cleaning the windows and making a fire. The Departure service is similar in reverse. After you’ve left we can clean and tidy, turn off the utilities, make the property secure and put your home into hibernation. Just let us know your requirements and we’ll tailor a package to accommodate your individual needs.
As with the Check and Maintain service it’s also always handy to have someone nearby with a spare set of keys.
